PizzaExpress Expands Retail Profile in Britain with New Frozen Assortment

PizzaExpress is broadening its retail store presence in the United Kingdom with the launch of frozen pizza, pasta and garlic bread products at Tesco supermarkets. The new line features Margherita Speciale and American Speciale pizzas in addition to Padana, Lasagna, Spinach & Ricotta Cannelloni, Pollo Forza Pasta, Spaghetti Meatballs and Garlic Bread with Mozzarella.

“Our frozen range is backed by more than 20 years of experience in offering customers restaurant quality chilled pizzas, and this new offering allows us to enter the frozen category where we know our customers are purchasing for convenience and different meal occasions to that of chilled,” said Rich Mills, retail director.

He added: “We’re very proud to be an omnichannel brand, and with our retail range customers are able to have an enlivening dining experience at home – whether it’s dinner for tonight with our chilled range, or an upcoming dining occasion customers can now plan ahead for with our frozen line.”

Founded in 1965 as a casual restaurant business, today the Uxbridge, England-headquartered multinational enterprise operates more than 500 restaurants in Britain and approximately 100 outlets in continental Europe, Asia and North America.
